The Shared Services Teams work across all Brands and are responsible for a huge range of activities from delivering product to over 40 countries worldwide, to achieving award winning store designs and handling 100,000 Customer Care calls each year. Within Shared Services there are over 1,000 employees working across 16 distinctive departments including International, IT, Finance, HR, Logistics, PR, Property, Digital and Sourcing.

The Role:

The Accounts Receivable team is responsible for the credit control and recovery of revenue for a number of different business streams (sales ledger, wholesale, external business, foreign). This includes the timely and accurate issue of invoices to our customers, query management and issuing credit notes together with the allocation of payments received and justification of any unallocated payments.

The Finance function is currently implementing a new finance system. This role will be heavily involved in the implementation of this system, from process design through to end-user testing. Working alongside the AR Project lead

Day to Day:

  • Management of Wholesale Debt stream, with full account ownership ensuring timely collection of cash payments & effective query resolution.
  • Management of customers’ accounts ensuring balances do not exceed the agreed credit limits/bank guarantee.
  • Drive a continued robust approach to Credit Control optimising all opportunities to ensure all invoices are paid in line with agreed credit terms.
  • Identify and justify any debt risk at the earliest opportunity and make recommendations where appropriate to recover.
  • Ensure timely escalation of all matters arising where daily targets/objectives are at risk.
  • Proactively manage queries to a prompt resolution escalating appropriately when required.
  • Process partner claims, ensuring a timely and accurate process.
  • Produce regular reporting in a timely manner for relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the project lead in all aspects of the finance system project.
  • Writing process scripts and end user process guides.
  • Assisting with identification and resolution of Gaps and Issues arising from testing the new system.

Must Haves:

  • Ideal candidate will have experience of credit control and system project implementation.
  • Professional, self-starter with ambition to progress within the Arcadia business.
  • Knowledge of IT and ability to use complex formula’s within daily tasks to manipulate data.
  •  trong numeracy and analytical skills with the ability to investigate queries thoroughly and accurately.
  • Good written and oral communication skills and ability to present financial information at a senior level.
  • Ability to recognise and adapt to changing priorities, whilst remaining focused.
  • Ability to work positively with all team members and adapt style to suit individual needs.
  • Willingness and desire to initiate and drive change.
  • Detailed understanding of standard criteria for production of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Enthusiastic and motivated.
