What you’ll be doing…
As a BAA you’ll play a vital role within one of Wallis' Buying teams. Broadly speaking, you’ll provide essential support to your department, ensuring that your brand stays ahead of the game.
This information will be used in weekly trade meetings for which you’ll compile all relevant data so that the Assistant Buyer can present to the floor. Given the fast-pace of the ever-changing fashion industry however, all this info should also be on the tip of your tongue just in case you’re called into a last-minute meeting.

Processing Orders
A key part of your role is to raise purchase orders and follow up deliveries by liaising with the Distribution team. You’ll also need to build excellent working relationships with the Merchandiser’s Admin Assistant in your department and with our external suppliers within the UK and abroad.

Critical Path
As well as maintaining the Critical Path so that it is always up to date and correct, you’ll also be expected to react to potential setbacks by chasing initial buying samples, lab dips, trimmings, sealing samples, test reports and production samples. You will also attend fit sessions with our Technologists, making notes so you can report back to your suppliers.

Sample Management
Maintaining an immaculate sample library means you will be able to locate samples with ease. It’s imperative that you keep up-to-date with industry developments " including competitor plans and performance " and that you know the latest sales figures for your department including, but not limited to, your best and worst sellers.

Administration Support
Day-to-day typical tasks will include general administrative duties including filing, photocopying, diary management, updating spreadsheets, responding to emails and dealing with incoming phone calls.

About You
With an eye for new trends in fashion and a good sense of what our customers want, you'll play a crucial part in bringing the latest trends to our brands. You'll work in partnership with Design and Merchandising to deliver the best product, so strong communication skills are a must. A fashion related degree or relevant work experience is essential, as are strong organisational skills and being able to think on your feet.
As you can imagine, competition for these roles is very high and candidates will only be considered if they have a fashion related degree. We also find that the best candidates have also had relevant work experience in their chosen career area, as it gives them a greater insight into the role that they are applying for.
